This page explains how visual collaboration indicators help you work safely with other users on the same view.

1. What visual collaboration indicators show

When multiple users work on the same diagram at the same time, visual indicators can help you identify:

  • which users are currently active on the diagram

  • which objects are being edited by other users

  • which properties are currently being modified

These indicators help reduce editing conflicts and improve coordination during collaborative work sessions.

2. Work with visual collaboration indicators

To work with visual collaboration indicators:

  1. Open the target project.

  2. Open the diagram you want to edit.

  3. Collaborate with other users on the same diagram.

  4. Observe the visual indicators displayed at the top of the diagram and related UI elements.

  5. Avoid editing the same objects or properties at the same time when possible.

Use the indicators to:

  • identify who is currently editing nearby or related objects

  • postpone a change if another user is already modifying the same object

  • coordinate edits when multiple users are working on connected parts of the diagram

3. Best practices

  • Agree on responsibilities before starting a collaborative editing session.

  • Use the indicators as a coordination aid, especially on large diagrams.

  • Review recent changes after a collaborative session to confirm the expected result.
